“I went to the waterfall! Now there’s an excuse to escape the city, with friends or alone to go on an adventure. Waterfalls isn’t just about the places, it’s about finding them. I love to travel. I love watching traffic from a car window, drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette at a gas station, meeting the locals, listening to their stories and participating. I love when wading through the woods, the sound of the water becoming audible and intensifying with each step. The magic of nature is easy to meet in the movies and strange to discover in person.

After another expedition across Russia, I noticed the conflict of tourist waterfalls in Sochi and non-tourist waterfalls near Moscow. Some are big, equipped, commercialized, famous. Others are small, hidden, unknown, unusual. The stories of the heroes of ancient Greek myths that decorate Sochi and attract tourists are known to everyone. On the other hand, I depicted my personal stories of travels to non-tourist places in the form of miniature sculptures. These are souvenirs or toys that look like the little stones one collects on the road as a child. The stones always reminded me of something: for example, cars. I suggest visiting unusual places on your own, so I’m sharing the coordinates of the waterfalls in the handout. A ticket to a waterfall is an opportunity to go on a journey and create your own story.”
