Maria Abdullaeva (b. 1998) is an interdisciplinary artist working with different mediums such as film, painting, photography, installation, performance, sound and poetry. Her artistic practice is based on the exploration of nostalgia through the transformation of personal stories. Many of the works explore questions of the metaphysics of nature, magic, memory, legends of sensory experience and the ethereal matter of the post-nostalgic. Maria is also interested in the fluidity of the photographic, ritual and temporality in the state of travel. The artist creates poetic forms from archival elements, field notes, informational finds, natural materials, and chemical photographic processes. This is a magical incident on the railroad.
